“Sharing tools, techniques and approaches to help others foster their creativity is one of the most satisfying things I can do in my lifetime.” Mandy McMahan

I began working in the digital world as a University of Maryland college intern at an IBM helpdesk. After 10 years, I changed careers and began a journey into the Healing Arts as a Yoga Instructor and Thai – Yoga Body Worker.

I trained at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, Mass and in Thai Massage at the Old Medicine Hospital in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I recently traveled to Chennai, South India for further yoga study.

I have also attended yoga and body work workshops with Cyndi Lee, Judith Lassiter, Ken Nelson and Kam Thye Chow.

In 2002 my passion for art and technology was rekindled at the Macworld Expo. Since then I have fallen into the rabbit hole of creating computer generated art with Photoshop, Corel Painter and Studio Artist Pro. I’ve taken workshops with Photoshop gurus Bert Monroy and Scott Kelby and with Corel Painter evangelist Jeremey Sutton and attended Art Basel in Switzerland.

In 2010 with the introduction of the iPad, my artistic life changed again. I was inspired to visit the David Hockney iPad exhibition “Fleurs Fraiches” at the Pierre Berge-Yves St. Laurent Foundation in Paris. Here I saw the infinite potential for creating and exhibiting significant digital art.

Hockney’s work, and that of many other iPad artists, motivates me to continually experiment with the iPad as a mobile art studio.
